What a great day!

We awoke this morning to find the weather outside to be cool and windy! This is great! No humidity, no heat, no sun... ok so it is odd to be saying that but it gets really hot here (especially at the peak of day- 5pm!).

We went to the baby house at 10 am and spent two hours with our daughter Taylor. She was in good spirits today! She was very vocal, lively, and seemed to be wanting to move. She wanted nothing to do with sitting on her own but she did want to sit with us propping her up. She talked a lot today! Tony says that she is telling us what she did after we had to leave last night! With the weather being as cool as it was we were able to play in the play room the entire time. It was a little warm though, even with the windows open. It is getting harder and harder to say goodbye... I have to admit, I am happy that she cries when we leave...

To the families who have yet to travel:
Lets see... prices here... Things are either cheap or overpriced. For example, we bought some shrimp that costed $80 USD, now keep in mind this was the first day and we had no idea how to read prices! As far as a gallon of milk goes... they do not have gallons. The milk is boxed and on a shelf warm. I would say it is a liter and costs about 600 tenge (approx $6). The money exchange varies from day to day. Today it was 1,220 for $100 USD. But like I said it varies.

Below are some pictures from our travels through Astana. It is beautiful here and everywhere you look there are new things being built.

Below: The building in th emiddle is the presidential palace. Resembles the White House doesnt it? this picture almost doesnt look real!

Above: The building with the blue windows/balconies (in the middle) are our apartments. The beach is a public beach along the river. Everyday it becomes packed around 3pm and will be packed until about 10pm!
Below: Us in Central Park - we know you all want to see more pictures of us!

Sounds like the bounding process is going great and Taylor wanting to tell you everthing that happened -isn't that just like a little girl.
The country is beautiful and it appears you both have adapted quite well there. As always Taylor is a cutie seems to be getting more antimated with every day.
Weather here finally broke but is supose to heat up again early next week.
Give Taylor a hug from me. Miss you guys and cant wait till you get home

I am glad to hear that she is talking more, even though sometimes you can't understand them. Aubrie still sounds like that sometimes. I am also glad that the bonding between tony, you and taylor is doign great. Normally that takes a while, but for it to start this early is absolutely fabolous. I miss you guys. Love all three of you

Looks like you both are having a blast! Taylor looks like a sweetheart! The picture of the presidential palace looks like Oz or something. Very nice. I have been to your site prior to this but didn't figure out how to leave a message till this time (duh). Taylor will get plenty of toys when you get her home. What is her date of birth? Love, Dad

So nice to hear from both of you today. I miss all three of you very much. The city looks beautiful, nothing like Borat, ha! ha!. We are officially packing for the trip. I had to pack all of my clothes(not saying much for a 14 day trip). We will be leaving from your brothers at 0900 on tuesday.Someday maybe we will be able to go with you and Taylor. She sure looks more comfortable everyday. Isn't love a wonderful thing, especially the love of a child. I'll talk to you a couple of more times before we leave.

Love Grandpa

The city looks like something out of a movie! Is it really as clean there as it looks? The pictures make it look like it is an incredibly clean place, not like any major city here. Sounds like things are going well! Thanks for the pics.
